fabric stash organization (FSO)

Tonight I worked on a spreadsheet of fabric and organized by color and type. I now have my cabinet having most of my general fabric stash, organized by color, and the bins are better organized too. I can't get away from the fact that I have about 2 rubbermaid bins full of fabric scraps...oy.

Here is the geeky spreadsheet (with thanks to Trillian 42 for the idea):

I have interfacing, linings, etc to try to work on tomorrow. I really need clear bins for that...

Now if I could get the foam "dog beds" for by daughter (yes, my children enjoy sleeping on dog beds...) done, a few pillows for the living room, and my unfinished but begun projects done, I'd have space.

Oops, I forgot about the fleece I ordered, on its way. EFQ, curses to ye! (Not sure why I turned into a pirate, chalk it up to being peg-legged and enjoying a lovely visit with my dear friend Jason and his son, being wrapped up like a mummy, and trying to fix this messed up space aka craft/living room)

If I could sew my robe (which would be good, pre surgery) that would get a load of fabric out of the bin...hmm...

I think that'd be a good plan, start sewing the stuff with the bulkiest fabric first.

pinks, and holiday fabrics

blacks... oops, don't fit in the cupboard, guess I better get sewing
whites and purples
flannels (yes, in Seattle they are a sep category) and blues

and a few presents:
felted purse for my cousin (NO PEEKING EMMY!)

renaissance princess crown

Oh, and for Daniel: the red lining I purchased to line my red hairpin lace dress:

When life hands you lemons...

Make lingerie. Or something.

Elann.com's esprit and I started off with White Lies designer Joan Michael Mcsomething's knitted fishnet pattern from Stitch n bitch but it was a PITA so I bound off (not loosely enough, turns out, darn it) and crocheted free form for the rest. Voila!

A little elastic encased in the top to keep it up and don't ya wish your girlfriend could crochet like me?

Yes, I am hot. Er, or something. Definitely something.

Oh, and that spot on the carpet was left by our carpet cleaning machine. Works great, huh? Sigh.

hairpin lace looms

So I visited my dad, and we used my grandpa's drill press (actually my son helped do it!) and we made two more looms out of some maple scraps Dad had, so that we didn't weaken my mahogany.

Pretty cool huh?

Den-M-knit indigo ripples skirt

OTN, took a brief respite yesterday to work up my lovely stocking (see post above, well you already did, didn't you? :-))

I knitted a uterus for a friend.

And today, the lovely people at the breast center informed me I have not one, not two, not three, but actually four measurable (and several un) tumors. Probably benign. Which would make it FIF_FREAKIN_TEEN, not that I'm keeping count.

I'm ready to hack them off. Damn things.

Anyway, tit bit knittyheads? Maybe I'll make one with lumps and give it to the radiologist.

Oh, here's a picture

KIDDING!

So, because everything else was "stable"

I decided to finally seek lymphedema treatment. Sexy, huh? I have a few weeks of wrapping (halloween costume--mummy and deady?) and then get to pay up the wazoo for a custom stocking, and the absent-minded naughty nurse look will be back, and I can stop wearing these sexy shoes.

I'm thinking of crocheting a fishnet stocking to wear over it.

I clop around like Hans the talking horse.

stripper dress

Ok, not really--it's the lotus smock from stitch diva studios, and I need to make a slip dress to wear it over. I'm not planning on wearing it over the blue dress, which is what my dress dummy wears. Clearly she's color blind.

This is unblocked, too--so it'll look better. Better still if I could lose weight.

Hairpin lace

My mom bought me beautiful noro (what is this stuff called? Ah well, I'll update later) and I made this necklace last night. Purty!
