Hello, and welcome to the website for

Assault and Flattery

Keeping Critiques Constructive

We are your “hosts,” Tracy Moncrief Mounts, M.A. ABD Ph.D, and Kathryn Godwin, M.A.student, retired Air Force officer.

If you do any kind of writing, whether you are a multipublished author of fiction or someone who writes technical manuals for company use, whether you are an academic teacher of writing or someone working on your first nonfiction book, we hope that you will bookmark our site and come back often!

We expect to add information and a link for book sales on Assault and Flattery when it becomes available. Check back for details, including an exciting contest and ways to get your name in our book!

Published Authors: in appreciation for your help with this book, we’d love to mention you along with up to three of your book titles. We’ll also include a listing of your website, space provided. If you have stories to share, please post them at the end of the survey.

Unpublished Authors: If you have stories to share, please post them at the end of the survey. We’ll mention you (if you would like) in the book. We are planning a second edition of the book as well, and we’d love to include any success stories on how this book helped your writing for that second edition. If you have a website, space permitting, we’ll include yours.

Teachers of writing: Please let us know what is helpful for your classrooms, and be sure to fill us in on any new ideas you might have for learning how to Critique!

Many thanks to our webmaster for putting up with our constant begging for upgrades to the website.

Click to participate in a survey. When you have finished the survey and hit “submit” you will see a graph which shows how your answers compared with the others (over 100) who have taken this survey. Please only take the survey once.

Results of the survey and selected “stories” will be reviewed and presented in ASSAULT AND FLATTERY. Publication date and publisher information will be posted soon.
