Which fiber are you?

I'm *ah choo!* angora

Angora is soft and warm

Angoras are easy to please and are highly sensitive. Flexibility and adaptability are your strengths, and sometimes your weakness as well. You are essentially a warm and feeling person, and little escapes your impressionable mind. You are generous with others and strive for harmony in your relationships.

what fiber are you?

Clarke is gone

(cross posted on my group's writing blog too)

So sad. I know he was 90, but he was my favorite science fiction writer.

"Arthur C. Clarke"

I have a couple of favorite books of his, one is
"Childhood's End"

I also read the entire 2001 series (wait, I missed the final one... hmm...), Rendevouz with Rama, and many, many other books by him.

Not as well known, but absolutely lovely, is his Tales from the White Heart
Also, The Nine Billion Names of God

I'll stop. Once in grad school, I ditched out early from a class so I could sit in on a satellite feed to hear him speak from Sri Lanka. He had to call us back because his office, he said, was in the top of the house and since as he put it, he was an "old man" it took him a while. The delay was annoying but it was good to hear him, unlike many of his fellow science fiction writers, he always had hope for the future and vision, and I liked that his books contained hard science facts but didn't read like a textbook.

He will be missed.

Malabrigo, how I love thee...

It's malabrigo march (and nanoedmo) so I'm busy and quiet on this blog. Here's something interesting though... look at this picture:

Funny how the colors look so different... to the naked eye, they look identical, but photography made the colors look different. I'd say that to my eye, they both look more like the pillow...

Any chances I had to photograph the Interweave Knits Printed Silk Cardigan in Malabrigo Silky Merino are not happening... rain, again. Just when spring seemed to be upon us...
